I think you are comparing the tandem Master to the quick take up Master. Did you see this thread? http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,16967.msg133295.html#msg133295 Did the Master you took off Have a plastic reservoir or was it cast? If you junked the booster with the jam nut and pedal rod still attached you'll have to locate one. I am currently searching through my junk for the  pedal rod since the one on my 74 is 7/16-18 and the one I need is 3/8-16.

Hey!
Yes Vile I did have a nose at the bits. Deffo didn't have any extras except the servo hose to manifold. The unit I junked had a cast resevoir, I junked the bracket that hold it to the firewall and the rod that takes it to the pedal! What an absolute plonker!!
I still have the curly pipes that connect to the resevoir and lead to a small valve block looking part that sits across the front x-member.

Ok, here's what I'm looking to order. It's from Summit.
Would someone be kind enough to say yes or no??
SUM760125 (pedel connector etc)
2132NA (servo + Master cylinder)

Pretty please!!

That should work as long as they're both 3/8-16

Sorry to sound a dope but could you explain the 3/8-16?

Here's my plan - Summit have finally replied, they will swap the unit for me if I pay the shipping. There lies the problem. It's $100 each way. I'm hoping they can send me a new resevoir with the correct outlets and I swap them over in the UK. That's the only thing I can see thats different between the one they sent and the one I need.

The only bad question is the one that never got asked.    :)

3/8-16 is talking about the diameter and threads per inch of a US (not metric) fastener.

3/8 is referring to the diameter
and
16 (threads per inch) lets us know that it's a course thread

And that makes it UNC not UNF? Or is that a term we use in Europe!

Cheers Firefighter, makes perfect sense now ;D

Yes sir, you are correct.
UNC = Unified National Course  and in this case it would be 3/8-16
UNF = Unified National Fine  and in this case it would be 3/8-24

Cheers friend !!

Let me know what you fin from Summit...  If I find what you need, and I can ship it like the wheel, it should be cheap right?

One step forward and two steps back.

Summit are now being quite helpful but it doesn't seem to be getting anywhere.

Can anyone shed any light after looking at the two pics I've uploaded??

Starting to lose the will to live now!!

Cheers all

Ok, you need everything that bolts to the firewall...  I wish you were closer, I have one complete sitting on a shelf and I can't remember if the power booster has the bracket bolted or a part of it.

Zeig85
If it fits I'd make a bracket it I had to!! Would you be able to get any part number off it so I could match it up? Thats assuming it has the bigger holes as the pics above!!

yours sincerely

Chris- it should be pics of handfulls of hair!!

The top pic shows the "in transit" bolt that I took out the new master cylinder against the size of fitment I need.

The 2nd pic shows the diameter of what I have. After re-reading Vile's post I gather it's 7/16-18.

Where do I find a master cylinder with that size outlets? And then fingers crossed it marrys up to the new booster I have.

Bitzer,

I was referring to the pedal rod not the brake tubing. I'm not quite sure what you are asking?
