my new project 82 LWB
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:13:00 am »
Ok I have found a good truck I feel is a good base to start from. I got tired of driving all over texas and people bsn about there ride even with pics that aren't what the truck is now... oh the pic online was fron five years ago >:(
I'm gonna go pic up the truck by sat if everything goes well and the buyer doesn't sell it under me. Good body and interior, the engine locked and trans... well the engine over heated so I'm gonna R&R them both. This way I can setup the engine the way I want and have a fresh engine and trans. It has a 305 now but I'm thinkin of swiching to a 350 for now till I make this truck a weekend cruiser. Then a 454 will get modded and dropped in.

Good deal! Glad you found one.

I have had the same thing happen with c-list. I drove an hour and twenty minutes to look at a mint bed once. He even had pictures from a distance that made it look good. His idea of mint and mine where a lot different. That bed was so rusty that if I had no bed at all I still wouldn't set it on my frame. It made me mad to drive that far and burn the fuel to be lied to. He told me to make an offer. I said how about $20 and I'll scrap it when I get home and use the money to help pay for some of the fuel I wasted. Guess I insulted him.

Post up some pics of the new truck!

Will do! I hate the bs that gets posted on cl folks really think people are stupid. I will have to tow the truck somethin like 25 miles or so, but I think its worth it. Hope to get things rolling soon. I'm gonna get it all cleaned up... for a daily driver. Then start engine and trans:) I'm thinkin of gettin the edelbrok intake and cam kit. Idle to 5k is that a good cam for a 350?

Post pics after you pic it up.  Just make sure to do it in the members rides and not in projects.  (there is a big sign that says no vehicles in the title).
