ok, what other problems did the older cruise systems have?

They didn't work worth a flip..  My '87 never worked correctly.   You would have to be on a really long trip to even use it in my opinion.

well i replaced the multi-switch on the column, talk bout a royal pain in the ass lol. now to make a long story short, i ended up cutting the wires for the switch so i could "fish it" down through the column then soldered them back together. before i changed the switch, the cruise never worked an now since i changed it, it somewhat works. well apparently on its terms. also what problems plagued these early cruise control systems?
