Ya there good headers just sit a little low hanging past the frame rails, that is what worries me about lowering my truck like i want to.
So thats why i asked about yours when ya get them bolted on....i can post a pic of mine tonight if ya want me too.

But they where a good fit for the price of them.

Well engine rebuilder guy came by today and got the cam. He say it should be about 3 or 4 days. I told him take your time cause I'm in no rush. He said no problem. I asked him if he would break in the engine... he said yes "that's how we do it" by the time it gets back to you its ready to go. No worries. In my head I'm like YES! Then ihe said he's goinna put flat top pistons in it to bring the compression to 9:5:1 and asked if I wanted to shave the heads to get it to 10... I said naw 9:5 is good for pump gas that should be alright. Awsome backed with a one year warranty. Great deal!

Just made my turn downs from the 3inch u bend. They are about a foot long. I think they will add to the depth of the exhaust tone as I'm looking to achieve a deep rumble.

And just incase the truck gets stolen

Well its here. The block and heads are after 87. He said I shouldn't have any issues. Now I have to get diff valve covers, gaskets, oil filter cover, and break it in. He say what he did was put it on a machine and spin it with oil pressure, but he didn't start it up and break it in. He said I should drive it around and that will break it in. Idk I think I'm gonna put it in the truck and break it in cause my engine stand is too small

Well spoke with comp cams tech and he said its ok to use. Machine for the bengine breakin. He said basically what is happening is the cam and lifter mating surfaces are estabishing a wear pattern, like when you do when you do the 2000k + rpm breakin. He also said its ok to drive it for like 30mins and finish the breakin with my 1590 breakin oil I have, so I guess all isn't lost.

Fired the engine up today. Woohoo dang thing sounds like a beast! Maybe it was the open headers:) had the plug wires on the cap mixed up, but got them right :) pissed the neighbors off for about 20 mins. Lol! Got the timing right... 10 degrees initial. The bad. Have a oil leak at my oil pressurefitting on the block. The good I'm sure it can be fixed by tighning the brass fitting. :) it was a drop leak and the engine still held excellent pressure the whole time it ran. Oh for you guys askin how the headers hang... if I remember correctly they are on point and don't hang bellow the frame. Ill check tomorrow and get some pics. Wish I got some first startup video. I need to find another temp gauge setup. Mine couldn't hold water before I started the engine. The fitting and the sending unit were not mating right:( oh I scrached my headers putting the engine back in, but paint will cure that.

Well I took it for a test drive today. All is well except for a oil leak. So ill take time out to get that straight before I drive it around. Things gonna sound good.

Did you happen to see where the oil leak was from ?
