Dash covers from store

I searched this site and found plenty of nice information about the dashes direct and oe dash pads, but what about the dash covers sold on this site?  Are there any pics of them installed?  I don't exactly want my truck to look like a beater when I'm done, but its not slated for the shows and magazines either.  Am I better off to try and wrap it in vinyl myself?  Its cracked very badly btw.  '83 c10, dark blue.  The price of the covers is not bad, but I certainly don't mind spending some time to make it look better for less or same money.  I'd love to hear from you, Chris, if you have more info. or a thread to point me to.

Heres some photos of mine.
Its not as good as I would like it to be but it is better than what I thought it would be.
It fits the dash really well. The bezel and plastic trim across the front had to sanded down on the edges for a good fit.

If I had it to do again I would find a reproduction dash and spend the extra money.
I am really picky and do show the truck, the majority of people ask me if my interior is originial or say it looks like new.
no one notices that it is a cover.
I did cover one in a boat style kind of carpet but that was only a somewhat improved beater. I don't have photos of that one

Looks good in the pics.  How hard was it to install?

It was pretty easy to install. I took the dash out, cleaned the dash and put the cover on. It was a while ago but it seems like it was glued or siliconed on somehow. Then I just re-installed the dash with the new cover already on.

Your looks good in the photos.

Did you have to sand the instrument cluster bezel and the RH trim panel or sand on the dash cover at those locations?   If someone had the 73-76 metal trim panel on their dash, they might have some issues if they needed to sand it down.

hey quick quetion on your seat. it looks like one out of a 90s silverado, were u able to just dirctly bolt the tracks off of the old seat directly onto the new one or did you have to fabricate new mounts?

For a non-show vehicle, I wouldn't think twice about the covers.  I plan to install one on my K5 Diesel and take pics when I do.

Should I pm you to get a shipping quote, or just start the purchase process to see it?  I'm fairly certain I need dark blue, but any advice on how to confirm that?  Do my defrost vents go into the cover, or is all of that part of the cover?  If I reuse mine, I must imagine that they wouldn't match at all.

you could add it to your cart and it will give you the total.  The vent go in the dash, they will still work.  I advise that if your plastic is 'aged" freshed all of it up at the same time...

I sanded the bezel and the trim. if you sanded the cover you would be through it very quickly. The seats are out of a '90 w/t. The track are from the old seat. they bolt in the back and in the front I drilled new holes in the tracks through a brace that follows the seat all the way across in the front. It works nicely and very easy to do.

Sorry for the delay, but will these work over a badly damaged dash pad?  Mine has several separated/curled cracks and where the holes are for one of the speakers about half of that section broke out completely.  I can take pics if I need to, but its bad.  I'm wondering if hitting junkyards and hoping for a miracle there is my best bet.

Yes they go over any cracked dash.

Check out my dash cover I bought from Chris here on this site. I cut and sanded the high places on my cracked, faded, ugly, worn out factory dash pad. Then I just layed this right over it. I have not attached it because my VIN number is under it and I don't want to cut a hole in my new cover. It doesn't move around and as far as I am concerned I am finished with it.
 If you want a show truck, don't buy one. If you want a nice, clean looking interior for say, a daily driver, I say go for it it.
 I had a little trouble with the first one and Chris was great, working with me to be sure I got satisified. He got the company to send me another one.

Here is a pic of mine. I put a piece of cherry where the insert goes since mine was toast. That saved some money too. The emblem was a dollar item from the junkyard.

Check out my custom cupholder on the seat too! 

1980c10: Did you swap out the steering column or just the wheel in your truck? I was wondering about the wiper switch etc?
