I just bought my uncle's 76 k20 with an '80 body. Went to put the spare on the front left after having to back it off the trailer with the tire off the bead, and even after removing all 8 lug nuts, the wheel will not budge a millimeter. I soaked the studs and hub penetration with PB, then tried wailing the snot out of the back side with a 2x4 and a BFH, no dice. Tried whacking on the back of the rim directly, no dice. Tried tapping all the way around the rim, no luck there either. Even tried heating the rim up with a MAP gas torch, still no luck. I'm leery of loosely putting the lug nuts back on and driving it on the rim to bust it loose since its a 203 t-case, and also the studs are pulled a bit and the lug nuts are a PITA to get on and off anyway. When I get home from work tomorrow, I'm going to get medieval with it with a bigger BFH. I've got a full size spare mounted on a spare rim ready to go for it, just no luck getting the old one off. Anyone have any other ideas or input?
