On the tail gate of my 84 Silverado the big aluminum piece on the gate has a few small dents on it and was wondering if anyone ever took theirs off and fixed the dents? Seems just about all these have one or more little dents in them and way to cosely to replace them. I think around $600.00+ or more. They are way over priced.  Would like to get the dents out of mine. I have three small dents. Anyone?

Take it off, on the backside you'll see that the outer panel with the dents is held onto the inner section just by folding tabs over the lip. Just carefully unfold them with pliers and the outer aluminum panel should come right off so you can get the dents out no problem.

Never had one off. I will try that and thanks. I guess you just lay it on something flat and tap the dents out? Or is there a better way. You got it-I am no body man by any means.  :-\ Thanks again, John

Yeah, use a flat surface and a rubber mallet to carefully get them out.
