New project, 87 Blazer
« on: March 11, 2012, 11:47:16 am »
I picked this blazer up last fall with a locked up motor, apparently somebody didn't know that you had to check the oil regularly. Paid 700 dollars for it, its in really good shape inside and out. My two high school age boys are helping me put a different motor and a rebuilt trans in it, will be their wheels for a few years till they both graduate. It fits in great with our other vehicles, 87 burb, 84 reg cab, 86 crew cab. When we are done they all will be red/white with grey interiors. I started out wanting twins then it grew to quadruplets. We got the engine set in yesterday so the trans/tcase is next on the list then getting everything hooked up, It has a red interior but last fall my daughter and I stripped out another 87 blazer that had a grey interior so after we get it running good we can swap interiors and then get to the paint. My burb is red with a white band and thats how I want to paint them all. I have never driven a blazer before, I'm excited to get it running and so are the boys.

Glad to hear that your children are helping you out, must be a great time you have with them working on all the old chevy's.

My wife thinks I am nuts, she asks why I need a blazer and I told her I need a mate for the burb. I have had the std cab truck for a year or so and she didnt say much about it, she hasnt seen the crew cab yet or know the plan for it. I finally decided on the wheels for everything, ATX Artillery with the chrome finish I think they come in 6 and 8 lug and they kinda match the wheels I got for my vette, just look beefier, which is good. Here is a pic of the crew cab and one of the vette.

That is a nick looking vette.  Looks mean.  Most women just don't understand about guys and their vehicles.  My wife keeps asking me "why do you need another truck" and "how many are enough", I just keep telling her, "honey, I only have 4wd trucks, I need a 2wd truck too".   ;D
