Came across these tonight, This is my truck in 2004, had been sitting buried in the garage for 10 years, and a pic of it after I cleaned it up and got it running after sitting 10 years, so grandad could use it to go hunting in the woods.
It doesnt look to buried in the first pic, but he wouldnt set stuff on the hood, the bed was full of so much junk! the tailgate was always down and was the workbench.

I wish I took a pic of when I found mine. I found mine on a farm in a lean too. It was surrounded by a bunch of hay bails and farm equipment, like they had forgotten about it.

here is mine (oozing potential) consigned to the junkyard by the originial owner. Bought it for 1300 from thse pics and didn't run good enough to make it out of the yard, so I re-negotiated the price to 800.

It amazes me what makes it into junkyards. I see trucks like that sometimes and I'd buy them to save them if I could justify having it.

It was at the junkyard to sell as a titled vehicle, it wasn't there to get parted out or crushed. Either way the originial owner brought it there after owning it for 29 years. He only put 53,000 mile on it and never changed a thing on the truck or had any work done to it other than to keep it going down the road. It had sat for a long time so he pulled it out to get it going to sell and couldn't get it running right, nor could the salvage yard 3 carb rebuilds later. it was sucking in charcoal through the canister. I noticed charcoal in the carb and one more rebuild later it ran great. Good for me they replaced all the brakes, hoses and belts on the entire truck. I don't think i'd let any vehicle go after owning it so long. One of these days I'll send some pics to the originial owner. I'd like to hear his reaction.
