hubs?
« on: March 23, 2012, 12:25:31 pm »
So I was thinking about taking the axles out of my 89 suburban and puting into my 76 pickup because my front end is shot. Is their anyway to take my hubs and put them on the new axel so I can get rid of the auto hubs?

I believe that you can, are both your axle's the same ?  Both 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, etc.  I know you can buy after market hubs and put onto the axles with auto hubs, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to.
If I am wrong someone will say, but I believe you can.

If your '76 is a K10, then the manual locking hubs should swap without any problems.

I thinking the ten bolts have a different setup I.e. the hub bearing housing sticks out like 5" and the Dana 44 only sticks out 2-3"
