Firearms show in Tulsa
« on: March 27, 2012, 04:21:38 pm »
I know a few of you guys are into firearms and other things along that line.

Just curious if anyone else is going to the big Tulsa, OK gun show this coming weekend.
It's a HUGE show.

I typically go there for every spring and fall show and will be there this coming weekend.

I always get excited going there in anticipation of what I can buy or sell.

if i lived within 100 miles of of the town in which my grandfather was born, who became an Okie from Tulsa during the Dustbowl and ended up in CA and become a deputy, I'd sure be there.  I love looking for bargains and studying pieces of history--especially 100+ year old Colts.

Have plenty of friends setting up tables there but with the pre-election hype prices are up 30-40% over last year.  Will sit this one out

My grandfather spent his youth in Tulsa and lived in a building at 7th and Jackson, according to the 1920 census and an early 1900's city directory. His family had moved from Stone County and Searcy Arizona to OK. His sisters worked in a laundry mat that was on the first floor of the building. But the whole family followed the mother road route 66 to CA during the Dust Bowl--just like the Grapes of Wrath.  He died in Bakersfield CA in the '40's, very young.

Yes, I'm here now.
Prices of reloading stuff doesn't seem much higher than last fall. I'll most likely stock up on more powder and primers.
Hope to find some good deals tomorrow.
