More weekday bounty...
« on: March 28, 2012, 07:53:43 pm »
So I'm slowly getting some things bought before we move so that I'll have just that much more to strain my back upon.

However, there are some pretty decent deals for parts out in SW Oklahoma... It's sad that I'm only now finding them.

700R4, NP208, t-case shifter assembly, adapter, crossmember, strut-rods, aluminum cover, driveshaft, TV cable, etc. out of a '86 K1500 GMC Suburban.

Well, Jason, sounds like you're quite the scrounger - and I mean that as a compliment.  You've proven that old saying:  Success is when opportunity meets preparedness.  Keep it up!

Looks like a good score, hope the price was right.

I don't think the price was too bad considering everything I bought. I plan on rebuilding the stuff.  As it is from an 86 'Burb, I thought it would be the ideal setup for what I'm planning to do.

I paid $300 for everything. They pulled everything (transmission, t-case, crossmember, driveshaft, TV cable, T-case shifter, shifter bezel, shifter light wiring, torque rods, cast dust cover and torque convertor), included all the bolts and screws and loaded it into the trailer.

I didn't have to turn a wrench, crawl on the ground, jack up anything, carry anything or load anything.  I just backed up a trailer, paid the man when it was loaded and drove off.

I checked the numbers on the transmission, it showed 6 TKM.  6=1986 and TKM I assume is T for truck, K for 4WD and M=?
