Red eyes would be bad, Like one of those old mack ornaments....

While the truck looks awesome to me, I kind of look at it like getting a brand new ride.  It's nice, but basically looks stock cept for the wheels, and I'd like my touch on it.  If I get a rollbar, I would have matching square hellas up there exactly like the ones under my bumper.  I know I don't care for the toolbox, Truck looks better without it, cleaner, but I miss having a trunk... ;D

Kenny,
In the end, you're the one who owns the truck....but you asked! You put it together and ended up with an awesome truck. I know whatever you decide will be done first class.

Thanks man!

I value you guys opinions, and figure if enough of you guys hate it, I probably would too once the new wore off.  don't want buyers remorse on my paint job.   ;)

I agree with PromiseKeeper.
I had to make a decision like that on my build with the visor. The original cab had a visor and my new cab never had one. I liked both looks but decided to drill 11 holes in my roof to have the same look that the truck had before just because of how I remembered it. That was not an easy decision for me. I had it clamped on the cab and kept taking it off trying to decide if I really wanted it on there. It took me almost a week to decide.

As far as yours goes...twenty + years ago I used to see a lifted 78 short bed around that had a bulldog hood ornament with the eyes lit up on it. It looked good on that truck.

If you still want on your hood ,find a good used hood and mount your duck on it and install it and see if that is really the look you are going for :) ;) :D ;D

Going off what Ralphhemi said, get another hood.

It looks like your paint is pretty good and fresh, you ought to be able to closely match the paint and mount the "Rubber Duck" to the new hood. That way, you can have a stock hood and the modified hood. You could then have the option of going back to stock or having the modified hood (hood ornament, louvers, hood scope, or whatever you choose for it).

For my trucks, I like the fact that they have been kept stock or at least stock appearance.  I think it makes them (my trucks) stand apart from any other square body truck on the road because they have been kept stock in appearance. But that is how I like my pickups, it does really boil down to what you want and if you like the hood ornament then put it on.

By the way, I thought I remembered that hood ornament from Convoy.

The only place I've seen that hood ornament before is on the Nova that Kurt Russel drove in the movie 'Death Proof.'

Its from the movie "Convoy"  and "Deathproof"

I forgot about this idea, but as much as I drive it now, I'm kinda thinking about sticking it on there.  That'd be cool.  As far as the extra hood...  if I don't like it I'll have the body man weld it up and repaint it to match.   He did some pretty amazing paint matching on a car I saw one time.  He painted a 5x5 area on a C-pillar on an old nova and when i came back the next day i couldnt tell where he'd fixed it, and he didn't paint the whole roof and quarter panel...  I have faith in him...lol  Only thing stopping me is when you can find a chrome DUCK it's $165...  Though thats not so bad these days...  IF I can find one...

I like the idea of the duck.  I have one that I am putting on my nova.

I want it more and More every day....  especially since I spend upto 5 hrs daily staring at my hood.   I think the duck would make it more fun...   :P
