Raising 2wd

I currently in the process of purchasing a 86 Scottsdale 2wd from my uncle. I would like to convert it to a 4wd someday but right now I would just like to give it a 4wd height. Would that be possible if I swapped out the 2wd springs and put in 4wd springs??
