Third brake light/cargo lights?
« on: April 18, 2012, 10:28:55 pm »
Does anybody know what might work for a rear brake light/cargo light on my 84 chevy, up over the rear window?

Thanks,
Mike

Does it have one now ?  Or are you asking what you can put in there to have one ?  Any aftermarket or one off another vehicle would work, you just have to mount it and wire it up.

It doesnt have anything there at all. Did certain years have them? Will the next generation newer pickup light assembly fit the contour of the metal above the rear window?

Cargo light were an option on these trucks from 73-87(91).  I have seen someone graft the 88-98's on there with some metal work..

I saw one guy on a 67-72 truck that added a couple of super bright red LEDS to his cargo light.  Just drill out the cargo light bas to mount the LEDS.

During the day it looked just like every other cargo light, didn't notice the RED LEDs in it at all.  But when he hit the brakes, those 2 LEDS were almost blinding.

That's what I'll be doing if I ever do that mod.
