As it turned out the radio had a short, which I fixed and now it has no issues atball, I moved the 4x6s under the seats which works better.

Kenny, aka 78 Chevyrado, that's a brilliant way to wire up your stereo. Outstanding job of thinking outside the box! And a great way to use that speaker hole in the center of the dash.

Reviving this thread. I am now looking to get an amp for my subs, they are 8ohm 175w rms kenwoods, I want 175w rms to push them, they originally had a kenwood 350w amp that pushed 150w rms x 1 at 4 ohms. I'm looking to beat that and trying to stay under $100. Is it possible with a quality amp that will perform well and last?

They never last since the glass drains in the door.  Nothing you can cover them with I have ever seen helps.  Plus it would need a lot of insulation to kill the tin can sound.  And most of the time they end up getting kicked in..

Thought about making some fiberglass enclosures that the speakers could mount into to resolve the drainage.  Should help with the tin can sound too.  Ever heard of anyone doing that?
