The exhaust system is absolutely shot on my r10 as its been sitting. I just went 911 tuneup on it today, everythings in working order and i knew before parking it my exhaust system was in bad need of replacement. I'd like some magnaflows/flowmasters or something along the lines to give the truck a lil growl, instead of just putting a basic replacement muffler/exhaust system, but upon going to sites like jegs or summit, unless they've changed their options, theres no option for a 87 R10, its all C10.

I'm a lil ignorant as to whats doable and interchangeable and such, but id like to order an exhaust system online that'll hookup no prob, without me having to do anything crazy. I really just want to be 100% whatever I order WILL fit my truck, as id love to avoid the hassle of returning, refunding and thus exchanging parts/pieces.

I'll be around the forum alot more as i had to throw ol faithful back into the mix this week as my 97 Grand Am was officially confirmed DOA today with a broke timing chain. So needless to say, ol faithful rides again. (slumps in chair thinking about fuel mileage in the R10 + gas prices) <------ i love my chevy tho.

Thanks in advance to whoever can enlighten me on this issue, will have some pics up of her soon. Shes in rough shape right now though, lol

Check with the store on this site, they have a kit for your truck.  You can get it with different muffler options also.  I do not believe there is a difference, but Capt. the site owner will know if you check out the store and e-mail him.

Well apparently they carry them now for the R10, cause after i posted this, i went to make sure they didnt, and they do. The selection on the mufflers isnt as vast as i thought, ive only found 2 flowmasters that are fit specific, i bookmarked them on my notebook and not the PC im on or id list em.

If ima replace the entire exhaust system, the mandrel bent tubing will have to be welded together correct? I have a welder at my dads house, but i do NOT do any welding, ill leave that up to him. Or meineke or somewhere similar in a worst case scenario. But on a side note, i just dont trust any shop to do work on my truck, i try to do almost all of it myself or let only people i know/trust work on it. Thats my 3rd baby.

If they're slip fit connections, you can use exhaust clamps to put it together.  When you're satisfied with the fit, then you can weld them up (or have them welded).
