There has been threads before on here about the different lifts, there is a difference between lifts and how your truck will handle after the lift.  Skyjacker is on one end with a very soft ride cornering will suffer a little, while at the other end would be rough country with a very stiff ride with stiffness all around.
It depends on personal taste and what the truck will be used for.  There are several in between that offer great ride and responsiveness, like I always tell someone looking at lift kits, the more homework you do the better you will like your purchase.
Rancho makes a nice all around lift that is not too expensive, I have used rough country and skyjacker, and a couple of others over the years, I have always went for what the vehicle was going to be used for though.
Your wheel hopping issue, have you checked to see if your springs are wrapping up or if your bushings for the springs are worn out ?  It could be the shocks, usually unless you have crazy horse power you don't get wheel hop unless something is worn out.

I confess to be a skyjacker fan owned and have installed others make sure you replace all bushings in your suspension as they are usually whooped check out wfo concepts for a shackle reverse kit they work nice if your happy with your factory rear springs combined with new four inch leafs upfront would suggest a raised steering arm or lowered pitman arm to keep steering in check

I think that I would use the Skyjacker Softride lift kit.It gives a good ride plus load handling is good also.As for the traction issue,I have some kicker shocks on mine that really keep the wheel hop down.
