Hello everyone:
I've been reading a lot on these forums for awhile now but finally decided to join.
I have a 1/2 ton 2wd '89 GMC Suburban SLE with the 350/700R4. I bought it back in '04 and have put about 105k miles on it since then (now has roughly 200k). It had about 95k on it when I bought it from the 2nd owner. The 1st owner worked for Ernie Guzman Pontiac/GMC (I think he was a sales manager) and bought a new Suburban just about every year. He sold it to his bowling friend about a year and a half later who kept it until I bought it from him. It was garaged kept and babied (I still have the original window sticker) except for pulling a boat trailer pretty regularly. I had to replace the rear end (it was humming pretty loud) when I bought it so I swapped out the 3.42 peg leg to a 3.73 posi (Eaton). Interestingly, the truck was equipped with the HD trailer package but no posi from the factory. I had it painted last year (February) in its original colors (midnight blue upper and lower with silver in the middle). It has the blue interior. It's in pretty good shape except the original transmission is starting to hesitate engaging into reverse when it is cold outside (not a problem right now!), and the rear A/C works, but the black plastic housing that contains the fan motor is broken where the bolts hold the two pieces together so the fan rubs badly (anyone have one of these they can spare?).
I'll post some pictures of the 'Burban soon.
