Where do I buy a new turn signal glass?
« on: May 01, 2012, 03:21:18 pm »
Hi there! I don't know why, but I didn't find any place, anywhere, that sells the turn signal glass plus the metal thing around it. See the photo! Anyone knows of anyone who is selling, and shipping it to Sweden? I searched eBay a while ago and found nothing.

Try e-mailing the store on this site to see if Chris has a source.

Hey, thank you all for the help! The clear and yellow versions are the same, except for the colour? No problem to change one for the other? Too bad they seem to be different for right and left side, since the pair of clear ones are really expensive.  :(

you might triple check the legalities of lens color, IIRC, sweden requires the front turn lenses themselves to be amber, no exceptions...

Well, for all I can find, the "shine" (can't come up with a better word) has to be amber, but it doesn't say anything about the light. I have e-mailed the authorities. I met a guy with a '65 Thunderbird the other day, with the rear turn signal being the all three lights shining, one at the time, in an outward motion. I am sure that was illegal here as well, but he said it was fine now.

Might be the case now, something was ringing out in my head from another forum, a member complained he had to keep his "carrot" lenses with any color bulb on a car that sold in the US and canada with clear turn signal lenses and amber bulbs..

Yeah, the government here is really busy making up silly laws. If it's good enough for the rest of the world, what's the problem? I even e-mailed a guy from the "senat" (or similar), responsible for automotive stuff, and he was asleep in the junior high physics classes, for sure! He said that the reason why I cannot have as many hp as I want in my car is that the turn radius would change!!!  :o

Truck?

The name of the company has been auto deleted due to being a competitor of Chris who runs this site for free.

PM me Hollowman, I'm in Europe too and may be able to help with info.

Cheers

Luck is definitely out of the question on this one... I bought the pair of turn signal glasses I found on eBay for 60 dollars!!! The guy didn't ship abroad, so I e-mailed him and asked if he might do an exception. Sure, but he GUESSED the shipping was 30.44 dollars! He would have to check, but if I was willing to pay that, he would send them. The auction ended, and I never got an updated invoice, or an e-mail saying "I was correct, the shipping was $30.44"! When I got in touch with him after a week he complained that i didn't pay, but still didn't say how much the postage actually was, and after I got back to him about that AGAIN he didn't reply, just posted a "non payment warning". I e-mailed now again, but I guess this guy doesn't like to check the postage... How about "the customer is always right"?
