Axle length
« on: May 26, 2012, 04:18:03 pm »
I was working on my truck today then somehow I noticed that the front axel looked like it wider. So I took a tape measure and measured the two, and sure enough the front axle is 3 inches longer than the rear. I also saw a video on youtube where the front was longer. I'm pretty sure I have my original axle on so do you guys know if that was factory for GM?
If there was no rust when you restore a vehicle, it would be to easy.

Yes, that is normal on some of our trucks.

Normal on all 73-87/91 4x4s.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
