lowering

I am going to be doing some work on my truck throughout winter and I got some lowering questions.  I would like to do a 2,4 drop just to keep it simple and suttle.  I was thinking of using spindles in the front to keep away from the alignment problems, and a belltech rear shackle and hanger kit.  Is there anything else that I need when I switch these parts? ie: springs or shocks or angles problems of some sort.

I would imagine you will need new front springs.  I am unsure of the rest.

That should be all you need for a 2/4 drop.

I want to drop my 79 with at least three in the front, any one know how low I can go w/o rubbing issues? I am running 6.5 chevy rallys and can go with a lo pro tire.Do you think it will be a problem?

Well Golden, my stepside has a 5" drop in the front and I run 15x8's w/255/60/R15 up front without any rubbing issues. If your running a 6.5, 7 wide wheel or whatever, you can still go lower, and I've seen a few 6"/7" dropped 2wd c10's and blazers with an 8" wide wheel with no problems rubbing....so I gaurantee you'll be fine

5/5 drops are ok as far as not rubbing alot becarefull of how fast you drive down a bumpy road stock lower control arms will bottom out with the spring spindle combo and with a 255/60 15 the control arm only sits 3or 4 inches off the ground

 and with any drop you really want to put new urathan bushings in makes for a much better and quieter ride

 I have yet to be able to try this yet a spig control are drop for the front end to get a little more clearance on my lower control arm something you may want to looki into

Spring/lowered control arm drop gives you less ground clearance since all it does is move the spring pocket down.  I have Suspension Techniques 2.5" LCA's and 1.5 spring on my Stepside.
