I would say anytime a bearing is making noise all the time, its reached its critical mass. You may also be damaging your front bearing retainer on the transmission, pressure plate and clutch fork.It is spinning around at a lot of rpms and if it let loose could cause even more damage.
Unless you want to have your transmisson rebuilt, or at least the input shaft replaced, you'll want to get that fixed sharpish. The part is only maybe twenty bucks, and with an extra set of hands can be replaced in a few hours
