Fuel Tank confusion
« on: June 12, 2012, 09:22:39 am »
I'm looking to buy new fuel tank / fuel tank sender / fuel tank straps.   (My truck is 20 miles away)
My Truck is a 1988 GMC V3500 that came originally equipped with a 6.2L Diesel.  I now am working to plumb a fresh built Cadillac 500 .

So far i have:
Spectra Premium ST01 Fuel Tank Straps              Do these look right?
Spectra Premium GM1B Fuel Tank           Are all 20 gallon tanks the same Right and Left?
Spectra Premium FG05K Sending Unit    Drivers side only???  I thought they fit either side?

Looks like Rock auto's parts interchange straightened me out.   Once I Selected GMC... Since there were no Chevrolet V3500's

SPECTRA PREMIUM Part # FG05K  =  Driver Side Mount; 3 Outlets

SPECTRA PREMIUM Part # FG05L  =  Passenger Side Mount; 3 Outlets

The tanks will work on either side. The sending units are plumbed for individual sides.
