Emersonsdad's '87 Burb
« on: June 13, 2012, 03:42:27 pm »
New to the site and just want to introduce my Burb. I bought this 1987 GMC Suburban V2500 with a 350 from family friends last year for $500. It had sat for around 8 years and just needed some TLC to get it on the road. Here it is the day the tow truck dropped it off.

Exterior: 8" lift, 3/4 axles with 456's and Mag Hytec diff cover, 20" XD Spy wheels wrapped in 37" Nitto MG's, Billet Grille,  New Sidemarkers, Headlight Housings with H4 bulbs, TBD.

Interior: Alpine CDA-117, Kenwood KFC-6983PS 6x9's and KFC-1683PS 6.5's, Phoenix Gold X10D4 Sub, Infinity 5350A Amp, Lightning LSD10-03 Cap, GT steering wheel, billet dash and door pieces, Viper 5701 alarm and remote start with proximity sensor and auto window module, redid the headliner, TBD.

Under the hood: Big 3 upgrade, injector spacer, TBI spacer, Hytech power charger, Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner, TBD.

Future plans include: Reupholster front seat, new dash pad, auto meter gauges, onboard air with train horns and quick connect at rear bumper, electric fans with an aluminum shroud, bolt on performance parts, aluminum valve covers, spark plug wire loom, new bumpers, led lights where available, license plate backup camera with lcd in the visor, PAINT! And I'm sure the list will grow but that's what I hope to get done this year.

What a transformation on the burb, very nice job.

Day 1 must have been the most rewarding car wash ever!  Looks tough as nails now.  TBD means "to be determined" to me.  What do you mean by that?

Yes. The next thing I do in each category is yet to be determined. With each new add on I'll just edit the 1st post to include it.

Finally after a month I've got the Burb back. Super happy with the results.

Before:

After:

I'm still going to replace the door pockets, armrests, and pulls for black ones then start replacing the seat belts one by one. When I get back from work I'll install the new dash pad.
