How to Wire up Factory Power Door Locks

Okay I have a 1986 K10 that has a 1983 cab on it. The fuse box and everything is from the 1986. I even swapped the wiper system in the cowl to the newer style.
The truck didn't come with power door locks, but the cab has the holes to run wires through the little boot thing that attaches to the doors from the cab. I bought some doors from a 1987 truck and they are all ready to be installed, but I need to know which wires in the door go where in the cab and what other parts I will need if any. For right now I'm just going to do manual locks but I would like to make the power locks functional some time.
I'm thinking the doors had power windows as well, but someone removed the power window stuff and swapped in manual windows (which I prefer). So I'm not sure which wires are for power windows and which wires are for the locks. I will post a picture so y'all can see what I mean.
Basically, I need to know is there a door lock relay that sits in the cab or something?

Don't know what you're working on to be specific, but only three wires are involved per side.
Look at the appropriate wiring diagram for your truck in the Forum Technical Pages...

There are a lot more than 3 wires coming out of each side. I'll try to get a couple pictures.

Still don't know what year/model you're working with, but look at the attached wiring diagram for a 1983+ C10.

If there it more than 3 wires per side, you probably have a wiring harness for power door locks and windows.

It's a 1986 truck, 1983 cab, and 1987 doors.

The tan and gray wire pairs in each door are the door lock motors (actuators). The light blue, orange/black and black/white wires connect to the door lock switches (orange/black is battery power from the fuse block - ground is supplied through the mounting of the relay to body sheetmetal).
The relay and wiring are shown in the diagram, above. For any OEM connectors you might need, find a donor vehicle, or match them up through this AC Delco link...
http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pi/wiring-connectors/gm/pigtails/
The door lock relay could present a problem. You might need a donor vehicle.
You can tie the power window harness out of the way in case you change your mind about power windows in the future.
Hope this helps you.

That does help...thanks for the information.
I'll have to look next time at the junk yard for the door lock relay.
Does no one sell that part new? Or is there an aftermarket kit available?
