SM465 stuck in gear
« on: July 16, 2012, 03:49:44 pm »
OK, this tranny stuff is getting old.  So, I had taken it back out because I wasn't for certain I had properly torqued the input bearing retainer bolts (I had), and so before I reinstalled it, I put it in gear (either low or 3, I think low) and slid it back up in there again, no problem.  But now I can't get it back into neutral.  Clutch is adjusted properly, and works fine.  I tried rocking the truck back and forth by hand first, then used my other truck and a chain, but cannot get it to budge.

Any thoughts, guys?  I really want to get this project over with!  >:(

When you put it in gear was the shifter then removed?  If so when you put the shifter back you didn't put it back in the right gate would be my guess.

Bingo!  That was it.  Thanks, Zieg!
