Hello!! 80 c10
« on: July 18, 2012, 02:41:33 am »
1980 c10 stepside black 5.7 4blt 4s m/t 2wd 8" rally rims.

I lost intrest in this truck for 8 years, Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed every minute I did drive it over the years. Heck! 350 v8 with a 4 speed, thats just fun. Put it on jack stands, started it every now and then. Now with renewed intrest, looking for ideas, and info.

Reading threw your forum I have seen some good ideas, really nice trucks. And have learned a few things.

I'm looking for what I want do with it, it needs a facelift. As I deside what to do,  I will ask some questions. I'm sure I will get some good advice, and save some time.

Not fully knowing your taste in vehicles, save for enjoying these trucks, I'd say 4/6 drop, add some 17's, back date the front grille and headlights to a 73-74 and then go cruising.

And I dunno if I missed a post, but welcome from Arizona

I'm not one that likes them set on the ground. But I have to admit. When I had 275/60/r15's they didn't fill up the wheel wells. A mild drop wouldn't be out of the question.  I don't like the plastic grill that came with the truck. It will get replaced.

I forgot to say in my first post. Mike in WA.

Something I've been wanting to try, is taking a 73-74 grille and adding a billet insert to it, i'm not a fan of the flush sitting grile's on the later trucks, and I think the billet insert would look sweet recessed in. In fact, I may try this myself in  the near future.

I like some of the older grilles. Looked at some of the billets to. I was thinking one of the aluminum ones in a satin black.
