1986 Chevrolet K10 "Re-Freshening"
« on: July 27, 2012, 05:47:15 pm »
Just bought this earlier this week guys, pretty much stole it from the guy, only paid $1600 for it lol. The body is great not a spot of rust on the truck, and paint is still nice. The engine does need a little attending to, seems to be lacking on power, and it wants to "cut out" when i stomp on it and get into the higher RPM, maybe a fuel filter? Also needs gears, tachs 3000 at 50 MPH. I have a few plans here and there and she will be a nice truck. Also, does anyone know of any good driveshaft shops because this truck was converted from a 4 speed manual to a TH350, and now the front driveshaft is too long, i guess when the swap was done the transfer case got moved? I'm not sure. Anyway tell me what you guys think here's a few pics for now, ill post more as this thread progresses.

Today when I was pumping gas the spring c clip type thing fell out. It's a pain to get back in I've been messing wth it all day is anyone sure of how it goes back in? Do I have to take the door off first? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Are you referring to the fuel door spring?  Did it break or lose tension?  You'll need to remove the fuel door to find out exactly what's wrong.

Rich
It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
