Hi from England UK

Hello from Oxfordshire,England UK
This looks a welcoming site with some useful info & nice trucks. My truck is (hopefully!) sitting on the dockside in NJ awaiting 2 weeks at sea on its way to Southampton UK. It is a 77 GMC C15 shortbed, one owner, from Mississippi.Supposedly no rust & drives lovely. Cant wait to collect it from the docks.
This is my 2nd 'square' - I had an '85 K5 shorty pickup that I loved & should never have sold. It is also my 2nd import-I brought over a lovely 2nd gen 76 Camaro in 2009. Having not used the Camaro enough (she was too nice to take out in the English rain....), and having never gotten over selling the K5, the Camaro had to go & another truck to use regularly take its place.
Hopefully,if she arives safe & well & is as nice as the photos, then I shall be back on here with more photos & questions....
Best wishes,Andrew.

Welcome from Alaska, Andrew. Nice truck that. I've always liked that body style and am partial to the smaller sport mirrors.

Goodness me (!) What a friendly bunch on here. Thanks for taking the time to leave words of encouragement. The world's not such a large place after all....
My wife & I did a road trip this May; Atlanta-Nashville-Memphis-New Orleans. We had a fantastic time-the music blew us away. I couldnt believe how many 73-87s there were still around down there; many as well-kept regular drivers or clearly cherished. Looks like the model has achieved 'Classic' status, & hopefully the scrapping rate will slow & the decent survivors will be in for a secure future.

Sadly, there are so many of old farm trucks (especially Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge & Internationals) that are being taken in for scrap prices... Some of these trucks need just a little work to get them back into shape, but I guess it's easier to just load it up and get the scrap value.
Case in point, I know one farmer that had a pretty decent '78 Chevy C-10 that had a nice cab, interior and front sheet metal, decent running engine but a rusty bed (from hauling fertilizer). He cut the frame and made a trailer out of the bed and rear frame and sold the engine and transmission out of it. He held onto the cab for me (I still have to go get it), otherwise he was going to haul it to the scrapers.
