Transferring parts
« on: July 28, 2012, 02:54:57 pm »
Hey guys quick question to clear up.
What engine modes can be installed on a 305 that would fit a 350? Carburetor, cylinder heads, intake manifold, exhaust headers, etc..??

Thanks!

All the above.

Like Thirsty said "All the above."

However, if you're building a 305, the heads that work very well with that engine may not work well with for a 350.  Same thing goes for the cam.  In other words: you may not want to dump a lot of money into heads and cam if you're future plans are for a 350 swap.

Thanks guys!
I was just dissecting my VIN on the website, and found out the truck came with a 400 out of factory, so looks like I'll be searching for a 400 to swap in and that way it will be true to the vin, though not a numbers matching engine.

Personal preference.  I'd like to be as true to original as I can in some aspects.

400SBC are going to be hard to find in rebuildable condition, they weren't used for many years and round trackers picked a lot of them up in the day.
