Do I need a flywheel cover?

I have a an '85 c10 with a 305.  Don't know the transmission.  I noticed the flywheel has no cover.  Do I need one?

Need...No.  But it does keep the road grime out of the starter especially if you have a winter season at all.  I would recommend finding one especially for a daily driver if it were me.
