74 cab project truck
« on: August 26, 2012, 01:36:10 am »
Sup guys, got a question, I found a cab for my short frame that I had left on a parts truck I bough awhile ago, the cab was a 3/4 4x4 truck before, and if I get it will be a 1/2 short bed 2wd and probably lowered. Would it be any problems later in the future if I get pull over and check vin and see a 1/2 ton, short bed,2wd,etc,etc?

Did you get the pink slip with the 74? If you did then just register it that way and you'll be smog exempt. It shouldn't matter what frame you're on.
74 C10 Long bed 350/SM465 Lowered on 20's

Praise the lowered

I haven't got the cab yet,but he has the pink for the cab, he just part it out so the only thing left its that cab, the cab it's in ok conditions and cheap, but when I get it rebuild, it won't be a 3/4 4x4 like the vin says, so hopefully there won't be any problems..I'm sure there's lots of trucks mis-match, parts from 3 or 4 different cars or trucks lol..

Are you just getting the cab and using the VIN it has and registering it?
Most people don't know that a 3/4T was only available in Long bed, and most don't care, the VIN doesn't designate the length of bed, so....

As long as you own the title that matches that VIN it doesn't matter what you do to it.  My 89 Blazer was a 4x4, it isn't anymore.

They would use the title/VIN to insure it.
