87 2wd transmission tunnel

Is this one a part of the floor pan or are the 2wd's a bolt in also. Just wondering what kind of work would be involved in making it a 4wd cab as far as the tunnel goes. The truck is a half ton and automatic now.

I am pretty sure all 2 wheel drives by 87, the tunnel is all part of the floor, even standard shift

How much of a job would it be to convert it and be done right. I am trying to piece together a K30 dually and have been needing a cab. I finally found one but it is a 2wd. All the ones that I have found before have no titles with them and this one is the first one with a title I have found.

It is done often.  In the upper right there is a search function.  Go to body and interior and start your search.  You will find several threads on this.

I have converted my 86 C10 cab to 4WD using a 80 K20 cab. I cut the middle of the floor out of the 4WD. Layed it in the 2WD cab, traced the outline and cut the floor an inch inside the outline. A series of spot welds and use of a body hammer and dolly, as well as seam sealer. works great and without close inspection you cant tell.

Its not hard to do. I would recomend bolting it in though so later on for any reason you need to its removable. I use large self tapping screws with a 3/8" or 7/16" hex head. For sealant metal roofing butyl tape works great.

Yeah, the tunnel is part of the floorpan on mine too.(R10)
