Again I think there was a mix up in terms. I believe you meant a GT500 vs a ZL1 not a ZR1.  I started looking for a GT500 vs a ZR1 and, well, those two cars don't even stack up against one another on paper. The Corvette ZR1 is clearly a different animal. But yes, I would concede that a GT500 is very competitive, if not more so, than a Camaro ZL1.  That said, I still like the Camaro more, if not just for my fondness for model, but also the lines.  And I frankly could never handle any car at the level needed to beat any of these cars. I am just as happy to rev the engine at stop lights  ;D

I'm hunting for the test they did,  I read it one of my dads magazines, and I sent him an email to find out who did the test.

I did typo about which shelby it was..  it was the ford shelby, the GT500.  and it was against a corvette ZR1  there wasn't even a camaro in the group.  The group consisted of a porche a ferrari, corvette, etc...  not the kind of cars a mustang should be competing against.  It was the "ford shelby"   but the Shelby Shelby is way better than the ford one so I am waiting to see what happens when they actually have a showdown including the Shelby GT350 KR.

Two things of late make me proud of my fellow americans...

Ford had tromped everything Europe has to offer, except some of the $400k+ cars, and California wine has put the french in their place....   :P

Aside of the camaro vs shelby thing...

The one car I want to see is the Bad-boy Cadillac.  Are they still making it?  Last I read it was better than Corvette in every way, as in GM's scheme, NO CHEVROLET, can outclass their top Caddy.  you never hear about it, or see it in any shootouts, but I want to see this caddy in comparison...

I'm not to big on the new camaro, it looks like the 60's cars, but i didn't like them either EXCEPT for the Rally Sports with the hide away headlights.  I love old 67-69 RS camaros, but I never did like the ones with the regular headlights.
