Just wanted to say hello
« on: September 19, 2012, 11:33:47 pm »
Hey everyone, the "new guy" here. I've been a GM guy for over a decade now. 87 Camaro was my first car ever and I still have it, then I bought a 66 C20 that's in my garage and I picked up this 81 GMC last week for a great price.

It's got the original straight six 250 with a rebuilt Turbo 350. I plan on saving the motor for a "nostalgia" rebuild, but I have a very stout 350 +.060" I built with my father that I'm considering doing a swap with.

Anyhow, just wanted to give a big "hello" to everyone and give a name to the guy who's been lurking the board for a little while. I've read several posts that have helped me immensely.

Hello and welcome from California.  Beautiful truck!  That small block will make it snap to!

Welcome from New Hampshaa!
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Hello!  Really Sharp lookin truck, and Welcome from Georgia!

Are those GM OE aluminum wheels?  if so, keep those bad boys!  Love the color!  It's my favorite!

I like the old inliners.  If I can possibly justify another truck, I want a C10 with a 6 banger in it.  I love the sound of them, and just not having a 350, makes it special, IMO.

Looks like a great truck to begin with, hope you have fun with it bro!

Yep they are.

I have to do so more research on the paint. I'm not sure what the name of it is. It looks almost like Eastwood's "Cruise Night Blue Metallic" but I would hate to buy the wrong color. I might not have been paying much attention, but I don't believe I've ever seen another GMC truck painted this color. All I know is that it was repainted.
