Bucket seat belt location
« on: October 24, 2012, 07:43:22 pm »
I am in the process of mounting some Suburban bucket seats and belts in my 84 stepside. It looks like the inner seatbelt attachment needs to be on the "shelf". Does anyone have the measurements of where they should be or offer any advice on how to locate them side to side.

Get the inner mount out of the Suburban that the seats came out of.

I got the inner seat belt mounts out of the Suburban...But it looks like if you put them in the same location as the original belts that they will be laying on the floor..

I broke both bolts removing them from my truck. It looks like if you mount them up on the rear "shelf" behind the seat that they would be off the floor and easy to access....And I wont have to drill out those nasty bolts.

Im currently in tghe middle of installing 1990 Suburban buckets and console in my 86 K10-I'll post pics as I go. So far I have modified the truck bench seat brackets for use on the Suburban buckets-I'm using a LH and RH pickup bench seat set of brackets for each bucket seat.

I crawled under to take a look last night..It looks like the shelf is reinforced just like the original location of the receiver belt. I think I'll try mounting them there.
I'm getting ready to put down insulation and I ordered my carpet..Want to be ready to put the carpet in right away, I guess it's not too good to keep it folded up in the box for too long..And I don't want the wife's cats sleeping on it..lol.
