1983 305 hei help

I have the one without vacuum advance on it can i replace it with one that does have it on it  being as i already have a new one

Yes but you need to limit the vac advance to 10°btc and get the mechanical advance to 20 to 24° and all in by 3000 rpm

Thanks. Is that hard to do. Or should i just get get a new one without the vacuum advance on it.  They are not cheap though

Goggle limit vacuum advance and them mechanical advance. sounds like it isn't some thing you do often., so read up first then goggle 375/41hei center plate and weights

Great! read up. Take your time this is critical to the life of  your engine so take you're time and read the forum threads you find.and ask questions when needed. there are alot of good guys here with answers.
