
Looking for suggestions on how best to clean these old wheels up (Uncoated / sand cast / machine finished).
I know I can acid clean them to start. One wheels has been glass bead blasted in a small section / distorting the machined finish of the bead and outer spoke.
I bought Extra fine sand for my sand blaster but I think it may still be too abrasive. I'm considering trying baking soda instead. Dry air and a shaker on the hopper (strap it to the brush guard of the diesel truck / truck running will shake it). If I can keep the diesel from breathing the baking soda this should help it to feed the blaster.
Bough new mag lug nuts & washers thru Amazon ~ 32 lug McGuard nuts still cost as much as the wheels.
Here is what some of the restored sets look like, But I don't think I want to paint mine.
