New Guy originally from Illinois
« on: December 03, 2012, 05:45:12 am »
Hey, my name is James. I am in the Army as a mechanic. I was an ASE certified mechanic prior to joinging the military. Currently I am in Afghanistan, but homestation is Fort Riley, KS. I have a wife and two children. My daughter is from my previous marriage and my wife gave birth to my son while I was out here. She picked up an 85 Chevy C10 with the 350 combo, but I'll be changing that over the years. Needs a lot of cosmetic work, but she assures me that mechanically it's sound. I am very inexperienced in body work, so it should be a nice challenge for me. I enjoy hanging with my family, playing with my kids, playing pool, watching football, and going out to the bars with the guys. My next big purchase will be a harley. I had a customized 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi Quad Cab that my ex got in the divorce, no big deal I mean it was a dodge and I've always been a Bowtie guy. I have been looking around on this site since my wife picked up the truck and have loved everything about it so far. I couldn't tell you how many posts/threads I have read. I was a member of a dodge site with the old truck and they were very helpful. I can see that this site should be at least the same if not better than the last site. I look forward to answering or asking you all questions. Hopefully I can get a full sized meet together at my next duty station as I don't see many of our trucks around me. Yahoo im name is jmilltats. Here's to bigger and better things!

Welcome from Chapman.  I retired from active duty at Ft. Riley 5 years ago and decided to stay in the area and am also originally from Illinois around the Centralia area.  Stay safe and keep your head down.

Hey Dozer, well maybe when I get back you can help me find some much needed parts for my truck. From what my wife said, the Fort Riley area junk yards don't have any trucks I can pull parts from. Know of any good body shops in the area I can get the prep work done at for paint? I don't have a welder and I'm novice at best at it.
