350 TBI stumbles low to mid range
« on: December 04, 2012, 02:25:07 pm »
From idle to about 1/2 power (sorry no tach) the K5 will intermittently stumble like a hard miss or interrupted fuel delivery.  It's died twice on me at idle in gear or in reverse.

I've read that it can be anything from a $0.50 vacuum hose to a $150 EGR valve.  I stopped by the parts store and their code reader doesn't show anything (check light isn't lit).

Any ideas on how to ID the problem before blowing $$$ on a crap shoot of replacing parts?

There are ways of checking the egr valve to see if it just dirty or faulty.  The Internet is full of tech articles and video's.  that is where I would start.
Have you checked for vacuum leaks ?

pull up on the EGR valve and see if it changes the idle?

Does your SES light work at all?  Jump the A and B ports in the ALDL with a paper clip with the ignition off it should flash 12 as in flash....... flash flash...
