9" wide steel rims?
« on: December 08, 2012, 02:02:35 pm »
Hey there. I am interested in running 10" tires on stock steelies in the rear for next season. I mounted a 295/50/r15 tire on a 15x8 steel rim and it fits, but seems a bit squished. There seems to be no clearance issues on the truck. Just wondering if anyone has run this combo and if the tires wore evenly? Also did GM ever make 15x9 steel rims? My truck is an 83c10 lowered 3/4.

Matt, To answer the "Did GM make a 9" wheel?"...the answer is no. There are aftermarket companies that can make them for you or widen yours. Most of your concerns are answered here...you just have to sift through the meaningless posts by Jeff, sorry :'( Lorne

Ok thanks for the reply. I didn't think they made 9" steel rims but I was being optimistic. I will search through some more posts about tire wear.
