what makes your square body rare? Is it because there were'nt many made? or the mods you made? or did it belong to someone special? Lets hear your examples.

I am blessed to have 3 that are special in their own way.  1st is my extended cab... 1 ton SRW Custom Deluxe.  In all my searching that I have done, all were the Silverado or GMC's version of the highest trim level, to top it all it started its life as a rail road truck that ran the tracks.  Rear windows, and roof replaced by PO to customize it some.  2nd is my 85 C20 Scottsdale.  My uncle helped build it in the St. Louis truck plant when he ordered it before he retired.  3rd is my 86 C10 which is as plain jane as they come without a single option added.  When done it will be my toy with a few upgrades for creature comforts, most are long gone and never seen one as plain as this.

yep, he had over 20 years there.  He was on the assembly line and at the end was a relief person who could do all the jobs on the line...

I would say what makes my truck rare is that its a tbi fleetside 4x4 crewcab (doesn't seem to be alot of those around) secondly my truck was built from the ground up with many modifications. It started out life as a 2wd crewcab I took a frame from a 1975 k20 4x4 crewcab ( I know.... Capt says the didn't make that model that year) then I took a 1990 donor burb and switched all the doors from manual to electric(very time consuming) installed dana 60 front axle 5.38 gears and detroit lockers front and rear with custom winch bumpers front and rear each with 12k winches the front electric and the rear hydraulic that runs off the power steering pump, 11 inches of lift 40 inch rubber and a good ole fashion 50 ft paint job.(looks good from 50 ft away) and of course i'm stiil not finished..........

I was very fortunate to purchase a '82 C-10 shorty from the widow of the original owner 

It's like the first truck I ever drove, 6cly 3 speed on the column, but thankfully factory power steering
H.D. Rear springs were the only other RPO ordered.

What makes my 1981 c-10 shortbed  rare is the fact that its a first year body style, and its a scottsdale with ac, single head lights , cab trim, and tail lights with factory chrome trim.

My dad bought my truck new in '79.  Now it is mine to save to hopefully pass on to my son.  I also have never seen the color combo....  green on green.  The engine is probably on the not so common list,  400ci sbc.

Mine is a 79 GMC 1/2 ton trailering special, fully equipped, came with a 350/350 combo 12 bolt 3:73 rear end l.s.d.(gov-loc?) oil and trans cooler, AC truck. I don't know how rare it is. I do know I don't see any trailering specials around here.

i guess my truck is rare in a "custom" way. it was also the first year for the new body style in 81. converted from a custom deluxe to a silverado all except the side badgeing. and it has alot of custom work for the off road stuff. like the lift kit and stuff. also has a nice custom interior.

Mines rare because its a C20 that wasnt eventually put out in a field after much hard abuse...  My truck is a 99.5% rust free survivor.  That's rare, even for 1/2 tons...   And I have an HD 3/4 ton.  That's rare in my opinion....
