Mufflers
« on: December 18, 2012, 12:21:47 pm »
I need a new set of muffler as the stock 26yr old mufflers are in bad shape. I want something that will flow a little better and is pretty cheap. I saw summit racing has a muffler line. Which muffler do they make that is the quietest?

Thanks for your help

Their turbo mufflers arent too aggressive. Loud on acceleration but mild at idle. How quiet are you wanting?

I just bought a 72 c10 and was lookin on it and it has cherry bomb turbo mufflers true duals. Never have ran that brand they were what was on it but they are not very loud at all just gonna leave em because exhaust is fine but  they are right underneath the cab. More of a tone at idle not loud just a mellow tone and when I'm driving I almost can hear it at all. If you lay into the throttle they still aren't that bad. Can't hear it from far away.

LONG glasspacks are also very mellow, and as long as you install them the right direction, they last longer than most give them credit for. The exhaust on my truck was over a year old when I bought it in 2006 and the same glasspacks are still fine.
