New Carb for 350?
« on: January 06, 2013, 03:34:52 pm »
I recently bought an '85 K1500 4x4. It's got the 5.7 with a Holley 600 4bbl carb. I'd barely driven it before it broke down, starter problem. I found a mechanic nearby who's a bit cheaper than others, he found some other issues (most of which I knew about already) so I decided to let him do a lot of the work since I don't have a garage and it's been cold & wet here in Oregon. He just called to tell me that the carb is shot, he can't get fuel through it. He recommends buying a new carb since he says he can't guarantee a rebuild. Anyone have recommendations on carb replacement? Holley vs. Edelbrock? I called Napa, they have 1 carb for @$950, another for @$425 and I'm waiting to hear back from them about the difference between the two. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have a remaned Q-jet on my truck and it works great.  I also use Edelbrock and I like them as well.
