Garage/Shop Building...not to hi-jack Zieg!

Raining cats and dogs here the last few days!  This weekend I almost finished-up the floor joists for the upper loft.  All of the blocking takes time.  Not to mention getting everything pushed into plumb by yourself and making sure everything is square.  I need to take another picture.

A few more blocks and finish up the nailing patterns on everything and I can start sheeting the floor.  I think I will do that before I layout my stair stringers.

This weekend I started and almost finished sheathing the upper floor!  Between other fatherly duties and miscellaneous interuptions I'm about 85% complete.  In case anyone notices...I didn't do my stair stringers yet, because I want my stair stringer material exposed to as little rain as possible.  So...It was up and down the ladder with 4x8 sheets of 23/32 t&g plywood!

Got the big garage door wall stood-up this weekend!



I calculated out all the weights and moments of raising that wall with 5 guys and it seemed that it was do-able.  It got it's heaviest at about 45° when the CG of the wall was over and slightly behind your head.  About 165 lb/guy to push.  It seemed a lot heavier than that when we were doing it!!  But...we got it up!

Maybe you need to spend a little more time on that garage and a little less time building axle wrap bars ,LOL .....by the way where's the video for the axle wrap.
