     Isn't that more like a brush guard ?  Well at least that it what we refer to it on a four wheel drive world.  Would it stand up to actually pushing another vehicle ?

I call them show bars.  I don't know if it would hold up well but other people around here call them push bar, brush guards, grill guards, and a whole lot of stuff.  I can see it breaking the grill out of the truck if I tried to push anything with it.  I bought it for looks and a place to hold 2 lights on the front of it.  I also know if you want a real push bar you make them.

ive had 2 brush guards on my 78 k10 gmc just like the one gto109 has and they are just for looks and/or a place to hang light on. the first brush guard i had on it did not hold up to much abuse. i found bolth of them ive had on it on craigslist for $50 if i remember right.

A push bar? No. A bully bar? Maybe. The angle on the bottom would allow it to slide over the top of the bumper you were pushing and bully your way right into their sheetmetal.

A push bar needs to be verticle so it doesn't ride up over whatever you are pushing. Like the Highway Patrol and many local PDs have. Or, the push vehicles for race cars.

That being the case, and that these trucks have served many dirt tracks (as well as paved), I'd go ask some folks in the local racing community. They're designed to be used, fer sure. I could also see, for casual/occasional use, using one of the above commercial bars for their mount, and modifying it with the appropriate members to get a good pushing surface.

     A true push bar is normally mounted to the frame so that you don't Push on your bumper,or else you could have the " push bar " smash into your grill when you're bumper collapses when pushing another vehicle.

I would not use mine to push with but the it's nice for looks and to hang lights off of.  Like I said before I call them show bars along with the "roll bars"  I also call them show bars.

I dont plan on pushing anything with it. more looks and hang fog lights off it.    dont have them anymore . found one but was bent up and painted black ,

JC whitney has them.  thats is where mine came from and it was cheep

          Why not have a welder fabricator make you a custom one of a kind push bar ?
