Junk yard dog

Hi, my name is Brian, this is my 1976 Chevrolet Scottsdale pickup. Two months back my buddy says "wanna go to a auction at the junk yard", I had 600$. I said sure, grabbed my money, but didn't plan on buying anything.
We walked around for a while, I didn't find anything I really liked. I didn't think $400 would buy the truck, I say $400 because of the 200$ in auction fees. The paint, body, and interior were clean, nice rims and tires 350/400/14 bolt FF with airbags, 2wd.
So I stand there and wait for the truck. It comes up, the auction attendant starts the engine. It sounded like there is a pissed off gremlin with a ballpeen hammer in the engine compartment. I end up buying this truck, pretty much exactly how you see it for 600$. Now since I only have one wiener and one @$%^, I figured a few years ago that I didn't need 2 bathrooms in my house. So I had turned my bathroom into a engine room. Inside this room was a 350 that I had been putting together for 1.5 years. A week after I bought it, I cruzed it. I am currently installing the rear end out of a 2008 Duramax. Its the aam 11.5.

engine. Edelbrock cam, lifters, push rods, intake manifold, and carb. Bored 20 over new alternator and hoses also. Probably would run better with headers.

You made a good deal for $600! Is the interior serviceable?

It has a few cracks in the dash , but it is ok inside. Well I have been hard at it all weekend. I got the spring perches and air shock mounts moved and welded in place today. I re used the perches, and used a magnetic angle finder to match the factory pinion angle.

Heres the other side. I still need to hook up the brake lines and bleed them. Since its all chevy it should just plug in. The wet stuff on the diff is brake fluid dripping from the T

So this is what the truck looks like now. The spring perches had to both be moved in around 3 inches on both sides

The perches were about an inch taller on the duramax axle, which was cool. One thing that sucked was finding a set of lug nuts to fit. I found a guy who sold me 16 lug nuts for 50$. I cant wait to drive it and find out how it stops! Oh yeah, I also need to get a 1410 yolk welded on my drive line, that way it goes too!
