Pretty new here with new project 84 swb
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:49:36 am »
Ok folks new to this forum and just thought I'd share some info and pics of my swb! Bought truck with fairly good paint and not good interior. Started with stock height on some centerline alluminum wheels skinny front and wide backs, put some ray Charles tint on it and then dropped it by cutting the coils and shackles, after that I camed the 350 which was bolted to a 700. Had bottom end issues so instead of rebuilding I swaped the 350 with a cammed 5.3 and a th350 with 3200 stall. 5.3 has a tsp 588 lift cam milled 706 heads and ported polished. The 350 is fully built beside hardened shafts, this power goes to the rearend which is 3.73 posi trac 10 bolt. I swapped my centerline wheels out with some 8" rallies wrapped in 295/50/15 hancooks. Don't interior pics yet but I've installed dynamat and new carpet. Taking trim and door panels off and sanded and painted them. Cut the kick panels out to fit a 61/2" speaker. If anyone ha any questions or something feel free to ask.

Nice looking truck, how are you liking the new engine/trans set up ?

Love the set up! Only thing is after getting the lower gears it turns a few rpms on a highway cruise! But I've gained mpg alot more power and I can hook on to my boat and stay at highway speed even up hills! And so much more driver friendly than carberated!

I wouldn't advise cutting the coil like I did I have regretted it since! An the ls swap is not much harder than replacing the 350
