Opinion on paint
« on: February 19, 2013, 10:52:31 am »
Hey guys, so I was blacked out my tail lights and side markers with some lens tint and now I was wanting to spray paint my grill and head light bezels black just to see what it looks like. My question is, would you recommend using gloss black or flat black?? I got some gloss but my buddy said I should do flat black... Any thoughts?
Thanks

in my opinion, gloss all the way. it looks wayyy better. also in my opinion when you go flat black it looks all cobbled up and like someone just wanted it painted and didnt care. just my $.02

Dude that's what I was thinking. I think gloss will look more like a nice metal finish, ya know? My buddy is backwards and said gloss will look cheap...

yeah, if you get the paint/clear combo just right it will look really nice!

either will look like crap if you don't do it right. IMO if your truck is shinny go with gloss if its not so shinny a shinny grill will look out of place and vice versa. either way i would go with what the rest of the truck looks like

I vote for flat black. Either way, just use some primer first. I have seen flat black primer. If the paint layer chips, it's still flat black underneath.
